Senate transportation plan keeps faith with projects in 7th
district
April 3, 2009
Olympia…Sen.
Bob Morton, R-Kettle Falls, voted Wednesday for a transportation
spending plan that would support important projects in all six
7th District counties.
Project funding is mostly for the next biennium but some occurs
in 2011-13. The funding plan for the North Spokane Corridor
would stretch across six biennia, or 12 years.
Budget totals by county:
-
$3.77 million for Ferry County
-
$9.53 million for Lincoln County
-
$3.18 million for Okanogan County
-
$814,000 for Pend Oreille County
-
$6.84 million for Stevens County
Morton said the plan would provide $185.6 million in 2009-11 for
the U.S. 395 North Spokane Corridor.
“I am very pleased with how our road construction needs are
supported in this proposed budget,” Morton said. “We still have
a ways to go before a final budget is ironed out, but I am
hopeful we will maintain our funding.”
The entire list of projects by county is available on Morton’s
Web site at:
