Olympia…Sen.
Bob Morton, R-Kettle Falls, is pleased that three community
health care programs in Ferry, Stevens and Okanogan counties
serving uninsured, Medicaid and Medicare patients will receive
$617,803 in federal aid.
“As more people become unemployed and lose their health care
insurance these clinics will become more vital to our
communities,” Morton said.
The community clinic programs that will receive federal funds
are:
-
$221,375 – N.E.W. Health Programs Association, Orient and
Chewelah
-
$142,375 – Colville Confederated Tribes, Inchelium (open to
all regardless of affiliation with tribes)
-
$254,053 – Family Health Centers, Okanogan
Overall, Washington will receive more than $10 million for
community health clinics to expand services, add new providers
and expand hours of operation. The money is part of the $338
million American Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
