Morton announces state loan and grant financing for a
'green' business park in Odessa
January 29, 2009
Olympia…Sen.
Bob Morton, R-Kettle Falls, recently learned that the
Odessa Public
Development Authority has been awarded $2 million in loan
and grant financing for the construction of an industrial park
to support “green” businesses.
The funding is part of the state
Community
Economic Revitalization Board’s
investments in economic development.
Northwest Industrial, LLC will locate in
Odessa’s new Barr
Regional Bio Industrial Park and will compost 100,000 tons of
regional green waste. The facility will create 59 jobs that will
pay 17 percent more than the average county wage.
The state Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) funds
will be matched by more than $3.4 million in local funds.
CERB is a state economic development resource strategically
focused to help business and industry create and retain jobs in
partnership with local communities.
“I’m very pleased to see economic development money go into
Lincoln County,” Morton said. “The new jobs are a very positive
step for this community and focusing on a green business is very
timely.”
