Schoesler to hold tele-town hall meeting Tuesday, Dec. 16 December 2, 2008 OLYMPIA…Sen. Mark Schoesler is inviting residents of the 9thLegislative District to take part in a telephone town hall meeting beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16. Residents may call in and participate in a community dialogue from the comfort of their own homes by dialing 1-877-229-8493 and entering PIN 13556. The tele-town hall begins at approximately 7 p.m. and lasts for one hour. “The 2009 legislative session is little more than a month away, making this a great time to hear from the people in our district so I can carry their views and concerns over to Olympia,” said Schoesler, R-Ritzville. “I expect the looming state budget shortfall and how it may be addressed given the results of the general election will be high on the list of topics we will cover.” “The tele-town hall meeting we had during the previous legislative session was very helpful for me, and the feedback I’ve received suggests it also was worthwhile for the many hundreds of residents who called in,” Schoesler added. “I’m looking forward to having another informative conversation this time around.” During the tele-town hall, Schoesler will listen to residents, answer their questions and discuss a wide variety of topics. Residents may listen in to the call, ask questions, and take part in instant polls.
Schoesler begins his second four-year term as 9th
District senator in January, following 12 years of service in the House
of Representatives. He is the third-ranking member on the Senate
Republican leadership team, serves as Republican leader on the Senate
Agriculture and Rural Economic Development
Committee; and is a member of the
Ways and Means;
Higher Education;
Financial Institutions and Insurance,
and
Rules committees. - 30 -
