Olympia…Sen. Jerome Delvin,
R-Richland, has been named to the Washington State Senate Water, Energy &
Environment Committee for the 2006 legislative session.
“We seem to be fighting water issues year after year in
Olympia and this year will be no different,” Delvin said. “We have got to be
able to find some balance.
“The Tri-Cities need to have access to adequate water
supplies in the future if our area is to grow and be able to provide the
business opportunities and jobs that are part of a thriving community.
“Agriculture is still the largest industry and employer in
our state, and is dependent on water supplies and predictability of
government regulation,” Delvin said. I’m looking forward to working more
closely on all of those issues.”
In order to take on his new responsibilities, Delvin has
stepped down from the Financial Institutions, Housing and Consumer
Protection Committee.
