OLYMPIA…State Sen. Don Benton, R-Vancouver, was appointed to the Senate Transportation Committee today by the Committee on Committees.

Benton was first elected to the Senate in 1996 and served as vice chair of the transportation committee in 1997-98. He served as ranking Republican member from 1999-2002; and as vice chair again in 2003-04.

Benton’s other standing committee assignments include: Financial Institutions, Housing & Consumer Protection; Early Learning, K-12 & Higher Education; and Government Operations & Elections.
