Morton praised for farm-friendly voting record
October 25, 2005

OLYMPIA…The Washington State Farm Bureau has recognized Senator Bob Morton, R-Orient, for his rock-solid support of farms and ranches.

The recognition is based on his 100 percent voting record for farm and ranch issues throughout the 2005 legislative session.

“I am honored by the Farm Bureau’s recognition and feel extremely privileged to serve so many farmers and ranchers in my district,” Morton said.

Morton, who represents the largely rural 7th Legislative District, is known in Olympia for his strong agriculture advocacy. This goes far beyond his voting record -- from the many agriculture-related bills he sponsors and promotes, to his lead on major issues impacting agriculture like water.

Morton serves as ranking Republican of the Senate Water, Energy and Environment Committee and is a member of the Agriculture and Rural Economic Development Committee.
