OLYMPIA…State Sens. Mike Carrell, R-Lakewood, and Marilyn
Rasmussen, D-Eatonville, will sponsor a Senate floor resolution to welcome
home Washington’s military men and women this Saturday at the state Capitol.
They encourage all who are interested to attend.

Welcome Home reception in the state
Reception Room.

The resolution ceremony will kick off
with a Color Guard from the 81st Brigade.

The Senate resolution will be read
before members of the Senate and distinguished guests, accompanied by a
few remarks by the resolution’s sponsors Carrell and Rasmussen.

M.G. Timothy Lowenberg will make a few
remarks before the Senate from the president’s podium. There will be a
representative present from each branch of the military.
In conjunction with the resolution
ceremony, military vehicles will be on display just north of the center of
the diagonal parking.
“This is a great opportunity for the
Senate to show its support and appreciation for the hard work and sacrifice
of our military men and women who live in this great state,” Carrell said.
“I am proud to honor some of
Washington’s finest men and women,” Rasmussen said. “Their courage and
sacrifice makes them perfect roll-models for our young people.”
Directions and parking options:

I-5 to exit 105A, travel west on 14th,
cross Jefferson St. and through the tunnel to Capitol Way.

Visitor Center parking: continue on
14th through the light at Capitol Way and take the first left, entrance to
parking lot on left.

North and South Diagonals parking:
continue on 14th through the light at Capitol Way and veer right into
parking diagonals.

General Administration garage parking:
continue on 14th and turn left at the light at Capitol Way, take immediate
left into parking garage.
