OLYMPIA…Senator Don Benton, R-Vancouver, made the following comments regarding his lead role in defeating House Bill 1268, the stem cell research legislation debated today on the Senate floor. 

“I was proud to orchestrate the procedural moves that bought us the time we needed to secure the votes to defeat this proposal.” 

The Senate defeated the measure 26-23.
