Dear Friends and Neighbors,
The 2008 legislative session has
come to a close. If
I could sum up this year in one word, it would be "punt," as
big decisions were put off until next year. On the positive
side, we did pass some much-needed legislation, including a
bill I sponsored to ensure the families of killed, missing,
or disabled soldiers can receive a tuition waiver, as well
as a measure that will make it easier to find out what's in
the state budget.
You can read more
about these issues and others in my post-session newsletter
by clicking on the "newsletter" link on
the left side of this page.
As always, I hope you
will contact me if you need assistance working with a
state agency, have questions related to the Legislature or
if I can help in any other way.
Thank
you for the honor of representing you in the state Senate.
Mike
