Senator Randi
Becker is a third-generation Washingtonian who has lived in the
area all her life.
Her goal in life is to
be an honest, respectful and caring person, and does not believe
in lying, cheating or stealing.
The ability to
facilitate mutually workable solutions comes naturally to Sen.
Becker, and she knows that listening, timely action and the
wisdom to know which to use at the right time is the most
important part of leadership.
Growing up in
Enumclaw on a dairy farm, she belonged to 4-H, both cow and
horse, and the 4-H leadership program.
She
also belonged to the Art Club, lettered in sports, was presented
with an art scholarship from high school to WSU between junior
and senior year, and served as Worthy Advisor in Rainbow.
After high school she
attended both Green River Community College and Highline
Community College.
Sen. Becker
worked as a flight attendant first in Washington DC, then
Seattle, flying all over the United States, meeting many people
in all walks of life, including senators and congressmen.
When she became a
realtor in Pierce County, she found that the most exciting part
was the negotiation of an agreement that was mutually agreeable
for both the seller and the purchaser.
Several years
later, Sen. Becker started working in the medical field as a
receptionist, working her way up to become the Administrator of
a multi-million dollar surgical center and offices in Puyallup.
Along
the way, she helped develop an Obesity Surgical Practice in the
Auburn area and worked for Good Samaritan Hospital, where she
started several hospital-owned clinics, including the Urgent
Care Center.
Sen. Becker’s
husband, Bob, is an Air Force Veteran and they’ve been married
and living in Pierce County for 36 years…seven in Edgewood, 20
in Spanaway and nine in Eatonville.
Their 20 acres outside
of Eatonville contains their home, horses, beef cattle, and
their dog and cat.
Bob has worked in
trucking and has been a Teamster member, local 174 and 313 for
38 years, and they both enjoy fishing, hunting and working
together in the yard.
Sen. Becker and her husband have two grown daughters, Reena
living in Puyallup and working in Lakewood as a certified coding
specialist, and Rhyan living and working as a college recruiter
in Portland, and are the proud grandparents of two boys.
